Tribute Concert to Patsy Cline – Johnny Cash – Jim Reeves

The Velvet Country voice of Patsy Cline caught the imagination of Sue Lowry, who has been a lifelong fan of Patsy Cline and Country Music.

Patsy Cline was a record-breaking artist spending 251 weeks in the Country Music Album Charts in the U.S.A.  A down to earth ‘Gal’ who could look good in Weston Wear or any evening dress, as she performed all the Country Ballard’s.

With all the wonderful recordings she left behind this will be an evening to celebrate the power of her music!

Sue Lowry was brought up by Parents who had their own Country Music Band and as they travelled around Great Britain playing Country Music this would prove to lay down all of Sue Lowry’s Country Musical Roots! Her powerful rendition of ‘Crazy’, ‘I Fall to Pieces’, & ‘Sweet Dreams’, will take you back to those Honky Tonk days of pure Country Music, songs include … Honky Tonk Merry go Round, She’s Got You, & Down by the Riverside. Joining Sue Lowry

Marc Robinson, who has been up to now renowned for playing Buddy Holly, will pay tribute to the Granddaddy of Country Music Hank Williams with songs that include… Howlin’ at the Moon, I saw the Light, and Rootie Tootie.

Due to unforeseen circumstances Marc Robinson is unable to perform as Hank William’s in this Show. The Talented Darren Page will take his place as Johnny Cash.

Lee Davidge performs a sensitive tribute to Jim Reeves with his authentic costume and iconic mesmerizing voice, songs will include … Welcome to my World, Distant Drums, and the song everyone knows and loves – a song everyone can join in with, Bimbo!

After the success of our March date we have decided to add another!

A complete night of Soul, Funk and Disco on Saturday May 11th.

We've been running "We Got Soul" now for the last few years and it has built into a truly great night and we cover Motown, Old Soul and a bit of Northern Soul, but we seem to get loads of requests that head into that ... shall we call it ... soulful disco?

Its not "Old Soul" and it's not "Stayin' Alive!", it's that grey area populated by Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel, Rock Your Baby, Love Really Hurts Without You, Ain't Nobody etc.
Great tunes, great dancing and they are soulful but we don't really bring them in much on a "We Got Soul" event ...so ...
Think “Car Wash”, “C.O.N.T.A.C.T.”, “Miss Grace”, “Young Hearts”, “Rock Your Baby”, “Never Too Much”, “Ain’t Nobody”, “Boogie Nights” , “Street Life” and you’ll get the vibe.

Quite simply a great night out and tickets only £5 in advance!

Imagine how it would feel to wake up on Christmas morning and think Santa has forgotten you?

Operation Santa Dudley borough has been running for over 40 years and we take donations of toys, gifts and money, to provide some cheer at Christmas for local children and young people who would otherwise get nothing for Christmas, not even a hot meal.

We distribute toys and gifts, fund Christmas meals and parties, to spread a little festive cheer.  We have no funding, so rely entirely on lovely local people supporting us.

This will be our 2nd Fashion show at Brierley Hill Civic and we are hoping that this one will be even better supported that last years, help us make that happen and bring a little joy to someone less fortunate this Christmas.

This June Quarry Bank Musical Theatre Society will be hot on the heels of their hugely successful run of Sister Act, by bringing the popular classic ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ here to the Civic. Prepare to ‘get wet’ as you follow the story of Don and Kathy at a time when Silent Movies were coming to an end.  If the set and staging is anything to go by, it looks to be another massive show!

Singin in the Rain is set in the roaring ’20s and silent movie stars are the biggest names in the world. Don Lockwood has it all, a string of hit films and a studio-engineered romance with the most beautiful actress in town. But with the new phenomenon of the talking picture on the way and a chance meeting with a talented young chorus girl set to steal his heart, things are about to change for Don and for Hollywood forever.
With all the charm, romance, comedy and tinsel town glamour of one of the world’s best-loved films, the Singin in the Rain songs include Good Morning, Make ‘em Laugh, Moses Supposes and the legendary Singin’ in the Rain

Tickets for this fantastic show are available now from £12.

Join us for a fascinating evening with Paul Harrison

One of the first British policemen to work closely with the FBI Behavioural Science Unit in Quantico, Virginia, he has interviewed over 70 of the world’s worst serial killers and mass murderers to gain insight into their psyche.

Join Paul, to hear some of the more controversial conversations he had with Britain’s and the World’s most terrifying killers. Hear why the Yorkshire Ripper was ‘scared’ of him. Learn, what drove Robert Maudsley, the UK’s real life hannibal lechter, to kill, and why he’s kept in an ‘all glass’ cell. The Amityville Murders; what Ronald DeFeo said to be fearful of, when Paul spent the night at the house of horror.

This is a truly eyeopening and entertaining talk, that covers twelve stories and interviews. Accompanied by a visual presentation, covering the history of the individual crimes, and the killers story in their own words. Sad, frightening, and at times, funny, hear how serial killers perceive themselves, their victims, and their actions.

Paul is regarded as an expert on serial killer profiling. As a consultant on the subject, he regularly works with; authors, and film and television production companies. He is author of 34 books, mainly true crime.

He has recently had published his first crime fiction novel, Revenge of The Malakim, book one of the Grooming Parlour trilogy.

ROMAN ROMP

A farcical adult comedy by K.R.S. Foster

The company that brings you the Adult Panto each year will be returning in the summer with their farcical adult comedy, ROMAN ROMP.

At the Temple of Vesta, celibacy is a way of life. However, for reluctant virgin, Frigella the Fulfiller, this means her only chance at Shagamus is to escape to the Temple of Venus next door. A fool-proof plan is needed and this must be expertly implemented to avoid a nasty punishment.

Sadly, with Frigella’s well-meaning but charmingly stupid friend, Bimbus, things will never be straightforward, especially with the High Priestess Virginia Creeper, suspicious of her every move!

Don’t miss this hilarious evening of farcical confusion and outrageous innuendo

... it may also contain mild audience participation!

On 21st June 2019 we Welcome The UK’s finest Black Sabbath tribute!

Sabbra Cadabra is the closest thing you can get to an early 1970s Black Sabbath show without using a time travel device!

The group features Neil Priddey on lead guitar as ‘Tony’, Tim Campling on bass as ‘Geezer’, Stuart Mills on drums as ‘Bill’ and of course, starring as ‘Ozzy’, is vocalist Kevin McGillian.

The Sabbra Cadabra show is a very faithful reproduction of early Sabbath material, featuring absolute classics from the first 8 albums with the original line-up between 1970 and 1978.

The attention to detail with performing and attempting to look like the Godfathers of Heavy Metal is simply superb. After all, you don’t want to watch just a bunch of guys in jeans and t-shirts do you?!

Sabbra Cadabra get as close as you can get to being authentic to the legend that is Black Sabbath, so they don’t play any Ozzy solo material, they don’t play anything from after 1978 and they don’t play the songs like a covers band would!

For a totally absorbing and realistic Black Sabbath material (and many have said better-sounding than the last couple of Sabbath concerts...) then you simply cannot miss seeing Sabbra Cadabra for the best Sabbath experience you’re likely to see!

Don’t miss it! Sabbra Cadabra play 2 hours of non-stop classic Sabbath...no Ozzy solo songs...no Randy Rhoads or Zakk Wylde 'interpretations' of Sabbath...no dodgy wigs...no 'pub band cover versions'...no changing the keys from the originals...THE ULTIMATE TRIBUTE TO SABBATH, PLAYED LIKE SABBATH, SOUNDS LIKE SABBATH!

Once the guys have finished their fantastic set a 'Rock' DJ Will Play on until late.

Tickets £10 in advance or £12.50 on the door.

Described as “The best Bon Jovi tribute band in the world” Wrong Jovi are a 5-piece look-and-sound-alike tribute who deliver a concert experience like no other.

Frontman Ally Ward’s soaring lead vocals transports audiences back to the days when Jon Bon Jovi was the greatest frontman on the planet while Mark Harding provides the virtuosic fire and passion of Richie Sambora’s superlative guitar skills.

They’re joined by keyboard wizard Simon Tabert – a classically trained pianist who portrays the role of David Bryan - while the thunderous rhythm section of Tico Torres and Hugh McDonald is provided by Jon ‘Alex’ Sturgeon (drums) and James Houghton (bass), two fantastic musicians with a wealth of experience behind them.

Since their formation, Wrong Jovi have taken the tribute circuit by storm, regularly selling out established music venues and theatres around the UK. They’ve even been personally thanked by former Bon Jovi guitarist, Richie Sambora, for the work they do.

With their attention to detail, stagecraft and natural charisma, Wrong Jovi never fail to turn every venue into an arena. Greatest hits such as ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’, ‘Wanted Dead Or Alive’, ‘Always’, ‘Bed Of Roses’ and ‘Bad Medicine’ are mixed with live favourites such as ‘Blood On Blood’ and ‘Raise Your Hands’ to provide a high octane journey through the bands back catalogue. T.Rextasy, the very best T.Rex Tribute.

Marc Bolan, with his band T.Rex, was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic stars of the original glam rock era.  With Bolan's special ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs, the band had a string of huge hits throughout the 1970s including Love to Boogie, Telegram Sam, Jeepster and 20th Century Boy.

T.Rextasy have now been performing around the world for over 20 years, a career that ironically out lives Marc’s very own T.Rex.  The band is now accepted as the world’s only official live tribute band dedicated to Marc Bolan & T.Rex, and the only band endorsed and approved by Marc Bolan’s family, estate, original ex-members of T.Rex, and Bolan’s catalogue management.  The band has been described by many as ‘beyond the boundaries of tribute’.

Truly a rock’n’roll concert for all ages - If you would like to know exactly what a Marc Bolan concert was like in the 1970s, this show is for you!

QUOTES

T.Rextasy – awarded the accolade of ‘The Best Live Tribute Band in the UK ’ by BBC1 TV.

‘They’re the closest you’re ever going to get to the real thing’

- Bill Legend (original T.Rex drummer)

‘T.Rextasy are the tribute act who break all the rules by being bloody brilliant.  Danielz is an exact replica of Marc, he’s uncanny.

- The Independent on Sunday

‘Danielz is a curator of Bolan’s life, a perfectionist protector of the legacy – T.Rextasy play with a poignant, flamboyant skill.’

- The Observer

“Danielz looks and sounds uncannily like Bolan and has dedicated his life to the man” – The Times

“Danielz is more than a career lookalike.  Here we have a serious guitarist with the animal grace of early Bolan and the clear unequivocal love of the music”

– The Stage

“Danielz just freaks me out!”

– Mickey Finn (original T.Rex percussionist)
