Comedy Night 'Live at the Civic' 18th May 2018

Date: Friday 18th May 2018
Time: 08:00pm11:00pm
Doors Open at 7pm

We're back with another corker of a line-up on Friday May 18 - and this time our headliner is the best-selling comedian ever at the Edinburgh Fringe!

JASON BYRNE’S inspired, original brand of high-energy lunacy ensures that there is no other comedian like him. His free-wheeling style makes his act a helter-skelter of a show – where the audience are promised the ride of their lives.

His sell-out shows have attracted accolades including nominations for both the Perrier Newcomer Award and the Perrier Award itself.

His television credits include Live At The Apollo (BBC), Dave's One Night Stand (Dave), The Channel 4 Comedy Gala (C4) and John Bishop's Only Joking (Sky One). He is currently one of the judges alongside Louis Walsh in the first ever series of Ireland's Got Talent.

"Unmissable" Evening Standard

"Full on, doubled up, gasping for oxygen hilarious" Chortle

"An hour of stand-up so joyous the clinically depressed should get it on prescription" Metro

PETE FIRMAN'S skill for fusing magic and comedy has made him one of the most in-demand magicians working in British television, writing and performing in magic shows such as Monkey Magic (Ch5), Dirty Tricks and Derren Brown's 3D Magic Spectacular (C4) and The Secret World of Magic (Sky One).

He has also made dozens of guest appearances on programmes like The One Show, The John Bishop Show, BBC Breakfast, Celebrity Mastermind, Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford, and This Morning.

"The new poster-boy for British comedy magic" The Telegraph

"Scintillating magic tricks from an ebullient comedy mind" The Independent

"A gob-smackingly talented magician....equally good at stand-up and boasts immaculate timing" Metro

BRENDON BURNS is an Australian stand-up comedian and author whose television career began alongside Sascha Baron Cohen and Ricky Gervais on The 11 O'Clock Show (C4). But he is probably best known for his fearsome live solo shows, currently tallying at 18, with 10 albums and six live CDs to his name.

He has become one of the most respected voices in comedy over the past 20 years, and commands a devoted following. Critically acclaimed, a comic's comic, and something of a cult figure. But above all, interesting.

"The single most jaw-dropping, awkward, yet ultimately rewarding bit of stand-up we have ever seen" Time Out London

"Not only has he been pushing back the boundaries of taste for years, I'm quite certain he has no idea where they are" Jimmy Carr

"I think it's got to the stage now where we can officially call Brendon Burns a legend" London Evening Standard
